Photography: Underwater

As a child I used to love swimming underwater.The whole world seemed different down there and I imagined myself a mermaid. The mermaid image stuck--mostly because of my hair--and the fascination with underwater worlds continued. I got my scuba certification and LOVE diving around colorful fish. I've done a couple cave dives and, although cool, I have a "done it, don't need to do it again" attitude about it. I have yet to take my camera with me way down deep where the tropical fish are, but I did start taking photos of people underwater a bunch of years ago. The way light plays in water and the complete freedom of movement people (and fabric) have underwater amazes me. Check out my Submerged gallery on Flickr for some of my underwater work.
